The title.

Sit down, grab a snack, pull up a chair, grab a blankie because it's cold as fuck, and make a hot cocoa.

A long time ago, I made a conversation alongside my friend about gear skipping. I'm mentioning this because before I even made the post with my friend, waaaayyyyyy back, I've noticed that people were gear skipping, but it was not much of a problem back then so I kept hush-hush about it.

When I saw that gear skipping was increasing at an alarming rate, I started to speak up about it.

When the new players/ returnee benefits kicked in, I made a suggestion to just turn the gear into materials. At the time, I suggested it because I had a feeling that somewhere down the line, people were going to get used to handouts and become spoiled.

On this server, a long time ago, if you got stuff like vaccines, fuel, etc during an event, it felt like an actual event because the items had value. When we first started seeing gear and stuff that we wanted in events in the battle pass, for example, we actually wanted to pay $20 pgc just to get the pass. When we got our gear after grinding, we felt like it was well deserved.

I mention this because now, things are easier. Some of the content, you can actually finish in one day if you have alts, a new player, or a returnee. The benefits and gear that you get from the benefits were recently updated, at the time of this post. You can get Dust gear easy, but you still have to farm for Gate Wave gear.

What I've noticed from the time of making the post with my friend about to the time I'm making this post is that complaining about content have gotten worse.

I've noticed that when Abyss came out with new content, people complained about it because they can't one shot it or can't do big boi damage. People wanted stuff that you would usually get in an event in the craft. People wanted more ways to get valuable shit in an attempt to make people want to play more. I've read and seen just about every complaint under the sun, and honestly, sum were more mind-boggling than others.

But, here's the problem:

1. People nowadays are used to finishing content quick. With the generation of gamers that we have now, they hardly will read, have a short-attention span, and used to digesting information quick. If it's not that, it's wanting shit to be done, otherwise they will lose interest. This also includes gear-skipping, which is something that I no longer have an issue about.

2. A lot of the people who currently play MMORPGs are usually playing their very first mmorpg, or not used to playing mmorpg's. They are some of the main people complaining about content.

3. People have lives outside of games. They have school, work, or take care of households and so forth. They don't always have the free time to sit down and grind.

All of this, I understand. However....

This is a MMORPG. These type of games are for grinding. You grind until you get what you want and then once you finally get what you're grinding for, you feel like it's well deserved. If it's a super rare item, and it's good enough to make you want it, but you have to grind it, you have to grind it. If you can't even do that, then I would suggest playing another type of game.

I'm saying this because complaining about literally anything about the game have gotten worse and worse. It went from complaining about stuff that is understandable (like if Naddic actually does sit down and test their game before they make changes) to something that is ridiculous ( like making a dungeon that is made for DPS easier because you can't one shot the boss or get it done quick).

Yes, sadly, the complaining have gotten worse and I knew that this was going to happen if the game kept giving out freebies.

Yes, I'm well aware of the intent behind the implementation of new player/ returnee benefits.

Yes, I am well aware of the intent behind the implementations of QoLs.

Yes, I am well aware of what other servers have.

But people nowadays are used to getting, and I'm sorry for sounding rude but, spoonfed stuff to the point where when it comes time to face content that is challenging, they back out, they whine, they complain over and over and over and over about how bad the content is, or, and I'm sorry for being blunt, but they make the most mind-boggling suggestions.

Do not get me wrong, I am open-minded. I understand that sometimes, the game sucks, but again, you have to remember that you are playing a MMORPG. I keep bringing this up because it really feels like everyone forgot what type of game they're playing. You are going to have to really work for some things. You can't always swipe your way through everything.

Say if a content comes out and you can't swipe your way through everything. What are you going to do? Quit? Come to forums and suggest that they make it to where you can swipe, even though they probably can't? If they can't, then what would you do? Quit?

A game like this is not for everyone. Closers is actually a slow-paced game. You're actually supposed to take your time and build, in order to really understand the game. That's the thing that people don't understand. Some stuff, despite the fact that it's time locked, you're supposed to take your time and build until you're finished.

Honestly, if you can't even sit through that, then you're better off quitting and playing a more relaxing game or just don't play.

I'm not saying all of this to sound harsh.

I'm trying to tell you all that things take time. If you can't do it, then what are you still here for.

And yes, I am aware that there are people who just casually play. Yes, I know that there are people who just play for costumes and Gacha. Yes, I know that people play to just sit on the tcp board. Yes, I know there are try-hard people.

I go hard on Closers because I still like the game.

What about you? What do you play for?

Are you still sticking to what you originally played the game for?

Are you happy so far on your journey?

If not, what's making you unhappy?

And if it continues, what will you do then?

And if that doesn't work, then what will you do?

And if that doesn't work, what then?

I won't even get into prices. It could not be helped. I called the prices getting worse too. It was bound to happen. I knew that the economy was going to get worse if something could not be done to prevent it.

Well? What are y'all going to do? Still do the same thing? If you say yes, then, know this.

The more time you sit around and whining all day, the more time that you waste instead of getting your shit done.

I know that it's hell, but you will feel much better when the job is done.

If that doesn't help you, then, I don't know what else to tell you.

I'd like thank whoever took the time to read this long post.

I'm happy and unhappy - Happy about the new content, unhappy about what it was like and hoping things become more rewarding than given.

To be completely real here - benefits are nice and all but there's a point and time where it's too much. Just like Gitae said - and even GMs on KR stated that it's more like a hand me game - literally an auto mode cause of the way one shots happen with every dungeon. I stated this constantly before in my videos and streams and heavily touched the subject when the skill point changes came around. After everything, people are able to get to 50m like nothing now and it's kind of beginning to feel like things are just too easy. This causes things to feel less rewarding. Thankfully, Flame King came around and it's really starting to test things out for everyone as a player and showing what it's really like to drop something that's legendary or rare. I'm hoping things will start to take a turn later on. Making mats black marketable like the Gatewave stuff was surprising - a bad kind of surprising. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. I want to actually earn things.

i've been noticing that quite a long ever since the asmo content came around, and to be honest i think people lost the meaning to what a MMORPG is these days.  Ever since i've gotten in this game i always liked how challenging stuff was and how people were really having fun taking their time to build their characters up.

With recent content tho, it's feels so blunt and everytime i see new content coming out there is always something people are complaining about, people need to relax, new content takes time to get things, it's not how supposed to be easy in the first place and to be honest the recent content is making me feel alive again, like the old PURI times.

Replying to some questions:

Spoiler

What about you? What do you play for? - I play for fun and of course, getting stronger (it does not look like it but i do)

Are you still sticking to what you originally played the game for? - I do yes, i'm here to have fun and enjoy the game as challenging as it can be, because i like challenges and getting better and better

Are you happy so far on your journey? - honestly? I am, i'm very happy how far i've got, even tho i did got pretty lost along the way.

And for those who will come by this thread to either respond or read, there is something I have to tell you.

One of the reasons why they made Team Rattus so strong and start at level 67 was to bring people back to the game. They made the Rattus characters (Chulsoo, Mirae, Eunha, Lucy and Aeri) look cool and broken because people like broken characters.

People nowadays like to play "meta" characters. If you don't know what meta is, it's basically what's new, or what's popular per say.

If a character is broken and they can do a lot of damage, people will play it.

If you guys are familiar with the term "bandwagon", you'll understand what I mean now.

If you don't remember what bandwagon is, it is basically following the trend, if it makes more sense now.

I bring this up because this falls in line.

How? I'll tell you.

Let's say, for whatever reason, you struggle with dishing out damage with your character you currently play.

A person will either go search for how to play the character, self-teach, or complain and say that the character sucks.

Aside from complaining about content, I've noticed that a lot of people complain about the characters being weak.

I have something to tell you.

All the characters, Now? They're not weak.

Yes, that's right.

Every character now is not weak.

I know, shocking. Bamboozled.

It's how you play the character.

There is probably something that you're doing wrong with the character. You just have to figure it out, granted if you care enough to do so.

If you can't figure it out, there is no shame in doing some research.

No, you're not going to look uncool or look bad if you research how to play your character.

No, you're not going to look stupid if you read a guide or watch a video on how to play the game or the character.

No, you're not crazy if you take notes on your character.

It's literally all apart of the process.

And if you're about to say

"But Chichi, the bosses now are-"

I know. But, there are also other areas that you can also improve.

Yes, I know that Naddic has spaghetti coding. I've heard it a thousand times.

I know.

If you are familiar with the term "skill issue", this is something that a lot of people have.

No, that was not said to be mean or rude.

No, this was not said to provoke anyone.

This....is a real ass thing.

Yes, we are in reality.

Yes, you're really reading this. You really did read everything right.

And, Yes. There was actually a point in time where Closers was losing players and so it resulted in making Team Rattus, which also includes having them start at level 67 with the condition that you actually have to play through the story to progress.
